In a showdown like no other, releases from the year 2005 battle to claim the title of best song of the year. We randomized a 64 competitor bracket and put songs head to head and it was messed up in every single way imaginable.
We disagreed many steps along the way, but ultimately we worked together to crown the #1 song released in the year 2005. And the results may shock you, one of us almost DIED, and other YouTube and cringe-worthy hooks like that.

It’s Tom’s birthday, so Pat is throwing him a bone and letting him talk about 1999’s All The Small Things by Blink-182. The biggest song that we’ve talked about to date at 5x platinum, Enema of the State shook the entire earth as well as Tom’s entire life. We reflect on how different Tom’s life could have been if he never discovered this album in his sister’s bedroom that an old friend left behind, and discuss all the spoofs in the iconic music video.

Over the past few weeks we’ve been receiving a lot of heat on Twitter for *checks notes, having opinions… So we asked you all, what are you hottest takes, what amazing opinions do you have that aren’t commonly agreed with. We then turned the tables and read all your terrible opinions on the show to take the head off ourselves for a minute.
ScorchFest 2021 was a ton of fun and we’re super grateful to everyone who wrote in. The range of topics were wild. We hit on Machine Gun Kelly, Blink-182’s discography, Paramore’s Riot!, Scrubs, My Chemical Romance, and The Used, among many other innocent passersby. Let us know if you want ScorchFest to return in 2022. It was honestly a ton of fun. Thank you all again.

15 years ago Set Your Goals unleashed upon the world an absolute banger/battle cry/genuine revolt against the record industry with their breakout song and title track off their first full-length album “Mutiny!’.
We talk a lot about bridges on this show, and you’d be hard pressed to find a better one than manifesto perfectly embedded in the middle of this track. It’s a total banger and while we wish Set Your Goals had a longer star studded career (and that one of us boarded the SYG train earlier!), we’re happy they died a hero rather than live long enough to become the blah blah blah, Batman…

Pop Punk and Emo musicians aren’t necessarily known for their ability to shred their instruments ala Van Halen or Slash, but there are a large handful of songs from the decade that feature absolutely incredible riffs. This week we drafted our favorite riffs from our favorite pop punk and emo bands from the early 2000s and it gets heated IMMEDIATELY. To no one’s surprise, Tom tries to pick a song from the wrong decade and Pat plays some serious head games.
